Depending on the severity of the break, there are different ways to repair a damaged tooth. Our dentists offer a variety of solutions to restore your smile and prevent further complications.
1. Dental bonding
Dental bonding is a quick, effective and mild solution for minor cracks or chips. In this procedure, the dentist applies a tooth-coloured composite resin to the damaged area, and shapes it to match your natural tooth, and hardening it with a special light. Bonding can improve both function and appearance, often in just one visit.
2. Root canal treatment
If the tooth’s inner pulp is affected by a crack or break, a root canal could be necessary. The pulp contains important nerves and blood vessels, which can cause significant pain and sensitivity when it becomes infected. Our dentist will remove the damaged pulp, clean the tooth’s interior, and seal it during a root canal to prevent further infection. To restore the tooth’s function and strength, a custom dental crown is placed over it.
3. Dental fillings
A dental filling may be the best option for small chips or minor breaks. Fillings help restore the shape and integrity of the tooth, preventing additional damage. They are commonly used when a break is minimal and does not impact the inner structure of the tooth.
